The Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM) and Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) have partnered to offer FREE emergency preparedness courses to locally elected and appointed officials in Virginia.
The three classes address the fundamentals of emergency and financial preparedness, navigating disasters, and disaster recovery and resiliency. All classes are taught by full-time faculty from VCU. Each one-day course is being offered at a variety of locations across Virginia.

Each class is capped at 50. Participants should consider taking the classes in sequence. There will be pastries and coffee in the morning and lunches will be provided.
