Magazine: Virginia Town & City

The Virginia Municipal League's magazine Virginia Town & City (VTC) is published 9 times per year by the league as a service to its members. The magazine’s mission is to serve as a medium of information and ideas for Virginia’s local governments, as well as to inform the league’s membership of the activities of the organization. The publication focuses on providing timely information on issues affecting VML’s members such as finance, economic development, technology, education, public safety and environmental concerns. Each issue of Virginia Town & City is distributed to the following:

  • Elected and appointed local government officials, including managers and decision makers, from our local government members.
  • Representatives from our Community Business Members and Partner Organizations that provide services to local governments.
  • State and Federal officials including the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, agency heads, and members of the VIrginia General Assembly and the United States Congress.
  • Other state leagues as well as varous university and public libraries.

Events: Annual Conference and Elected Officials Conferences

Community Business Member (CBM) organizations at the Gold level are listed as supporting sponsors of VML's Annual Conference each fall. CBMs at the Diamond Level are listed as major sponsors of the Annual Conference as well as sponsors of VML's Elected Officials Conferences (held each winter and summer).

VML is also pleased to offer sponsorship opportunites to non-member organizations on a case-by-case basis. Please contact Rob Bullington, rbullington@vml.org to inquire about sponsorship opportunities.

Newsletter: eNews

VML's eNews is emailed directly to our members every other week except during sessions of the General Assembly. During legislative sessions it is published twice weekly, with Special Editions and Actions Alerts published as needed. The newsletter includes up-to-date information on activities of the General Assembly, resources and opportunities available to the VML family of local governments, the progress of studies and commissions, news from VML's partner organizations and Community Business Members...and more!

Partners and Community Business Member organizations (at the Silver Level or higher) are guaranteed to be listed as a sponsor of eNews for at least one issue during the year. This includes the organziation's logo and a brief description a the top of that issue of eNews.

Note - Access to eNews is limited to VML members and guests who must be logged into their VML account to view the content.

Podcast: The VML Voice

The VML Voice is the official podcast of the Virginia Municipal League. Each episode explores a different locality or issue but the focus is always on Virginia and the local governments that make the Commonwealth work for everyone.
